Capture the Details

There are many reasons why people buy cars, as they mean different things to different people. Some consider cars utilitarian, a machine that can transport people from one place to another. To others, they can be regarded as art pieces, much more than only a means of transportation. A vehicle can be nostalgic, a symbol of status and success, or something to appreciate for the hundreds of hours spent creating it. They are meaningful to their owners, and manufacturers realize that people can become attached to their products, creating a long-standing relationship with the brand or the model. They evoke an admiration that can stretch far beyond their function.

Car enthusiasts appreciate the meticulous attention to detail in the craftsmanship, design, and aesthetics that elevate cars to stand out. That includes what most people will notice about a car—the exterior and particular details and craftsmanship found along the exterior and within the vehicle.

Capturing the details of a car helps create a story. This is especially important when doing a client shoot. The vehicle’s owner admires every part of it, and you have been commissioned to capture their pride and joy. The exterior from various angles is essential to capture as the body is the car’s most striking and prominent characteristic. Be sure to include unique exterior elements, details, and design choices. That includes badges, spoilers, vents, door handles, wheels, tail lights, headlights, and more, such as custom paint jobs and aftermarket upgrades. As for the interior, the seats, interior doors, buttons, dials, instrument panel, screen graphics, and shifter. The cabin can have some interesting aspects, but it is not the only place to focus. Some engines are pure art and should not be ignored. You can find interesting details under the hood, too. (or wherever the engine may be)

When capturing photos of a vehicle, it’s important to showcase what is the most attractive about it. Some cars are so outlandish that every part and every detail of the vehicle stands out, giving numerous opportunities for photos. Others are more subdued. Also, a car doesn’t have to be incredibly expensive to have intriguing and unique features, and showcasing what makes it special is essential. That involves capturing the fine details and design of the exterior and interior design.
